It's gift wrapping season! – here are some ideas to get you feeling creative!
We've hunted down some crafty and creative ideas to make gift wrapping even more fun for you this year – and add an extra special touch to your gifts.
What could be more Christmassy than some holly jolly reindeer prints! This is an easy way to spruce up your gift wrap – just dip your (or your little one's!) finger into paint and dot it around the paper, then once it’s dried, use a black or brown pen to add eyes and antlers!
Thanks to Katrina at Splash of Something for this fun DIY wrapping paper idea - kids and adults alike will love it!
Sticking with a reindeer theme, this cute footprint-reindeer gift wrap is perfect for a handmade feel and giving gifts an extra personal touch. This one could get messy, but we think it’s definitely worth it! Lay your choice of plain wrapping paper on the floor and use brown paint on the soles of your little one’s feet (or yours!), then they can step onto the paper leaving footprints as they go. Once the paint is dry, add your reindeers’ features! Red noses, antlers and eyes.
Cindy’s top tip for an easy clean up is ‘Keep some damp rags handy to clean excess paint off your children’s feet and hands. Otherwise, you may find little reindeers all over your floors.’
We love this sustainable option: tea towel gift wrap! Georgia Coote takes her inspiration from the Japanese art of furoshiki and the results do not disappoint. You can follow Georgia’s steps to this wrapping alternative here.
A super easy and simple way to add a little bit of spice to your gift wrap is this polka dot paper! It couldn’t be more simple – just use wrapping paper, plus paint along with a stamp or something round to add dots (Brittany used the end of a pencil)...a super simple yet effective way to create some cute and special gift wrap.
How about a classic Christmas craft? Making paper snowflakes is so easy and they make a festive addition to any gift wrap. You can follow steps along with us on our recent 12 DIYS of Christmas blog.
Our colour-in Christmas craft activity pack is perfect for any wrapper who wants to add personal touches to this year’s gifts (and kids will love getting involved, too!). A wonderful way to make your gifts really personal, and to have fun colouring and adding your own messages to the festive design. You could even cut out some of your favourite shapes and colour and collage them onto brown paper.
Whether you're a 'quick-fix-wrapper' or enjoy spending time perfecting each gift, we hope these ideas make your festive wrapping even more fun and special this year.
